How do I read this
table?
To see if your browser is supported by Heritage Trust Federal
Credit Unions Internet Banking, read across the row that starts
with the Operating System you are using. Browsers that are
"Recommended" have been thoroughly tested with Heritage
Trust Federal Credit Union Internet Banking and support all
the technologies we use. Browsers that are "Supported"
have been tested with Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union
Internet Banking and support at least a minimum amount of
functionality, but may have minor incompatibilities or display
issues.
* "Win 2000, SP4" refers to Windows
2000 Service Pack 4, and "Win XP, SP2" refers to
Windows XP Service Pack 2. If you do not have the most recent
Service pack for your Microsoft Operating System you may be
missing out on important security updates. Please visit windowsupdate.com
to see if your Operating System needs to be updated.
What browser am I using right now?
To find out...
- At the top of your browser window, click on Help.
- Select About [browser name].
- This will tell you the version of the browser you are
using. Compare this version number to the table above.
Incompatible Browser Versions
Browsers that are "Not Supported" or do not appear
on this list should not be used to access Heritage Trust Federal
Credit Unions Internet Banking because they may present a
security risk or not support the basic technologies necessary
to use Internet Banking.
If you are using an older version of one of the browsers listed
above, we recommend you upgrade your browser. Using the
newest version of your browser helps ensure that you are protected
by the most recent security updates and will improve your
experience on this and other web sites. Please be aware
as the Internet grows so does the technology around it. Browsers
that work today with Internet Banking may become obsolete
in the future.
Note for Internet Explorer Users
Please note that some older versions of Microsoft Internet
Explorer have been known to have problems with Secure Socket
Layers. Microsoft is aware of the problems and have placed
several patches on their site for the Internet Explorer browsers.
Microsoft also made some recommendations as to what version
may fit your needs. You must have all of the patches installed
to your browser in order for it to work properly with Internet
Banking.

Browser Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my browser supports 128 bit encryption?
Most browsers currently available support 128-bit encryption.
To determine if your browser supports 128-bit encryption,
click on Help in the toolbar of your Internet browser and
click on About [browser name]. A pop-up box or window will
display.
For Internet Explorer - Next to "Cipher strength"
you should see "128-bit".
For Netscape - the following text should appear: "This
version supports high-grade (128-bit) security with RSA Public
Key Cryptography".
All versions of Firefox 1.0 and greater support 128-bit encryption.
If your browser does not support 128-bit encryption, you will
need to upgrade to a browser that does in order to continue
to access secure pages of the website. See the list of compatable
browsers at the top of this page.
Why has Heritage Trust stopped supporting all the earlier
versions of the most common browsers?
Heritage Trust has not stopped supporting some earlier versions
of browsers, and many of the earlier versions still work with
Heritage Trust products. However, due to the proliferation
of browsers and browser versions, it is no longer feasible
for us to test and certify every browser version used to access
our products.
Does this policy mean that users who don't have one of
the browsers listed above will not be able to access Heritage
Trust's website or Internet Banking any longer?
Many browsers will still work fine with Heritage Trust products.
In fact, there are currently over 200 different browser versions
that are used to access Heritage Trust applications, though
not all are certified.
